Traditional Sink Vs Contemporary Sink

We produce the World’s finest kitchen sinks and have done for over 115 years, handcrafted at our factory in Darwen, Lancashire. Our current Kitchen sink range includes two distinctly different styles; Original, which is a more traditional fireclay sink, and the Classic, which appeals to more contemporary styles.

The differences don’t end there though, allowing our Customers to select a sink that fits best with their kitchen style; be it Farmhouse, Traditional or Contemporary.

The Original Collection is an elegant heavy duty fireclay ceramic Kitchen Sink and contains an array of original designs and details which are unique to fireclay ceramics. The Classic Collection has slimline walls, but allows no compromise to its construction quality and remains true to the heritage of handcrafted fireclay.

The names we’ve given to each of our Kitchen Sinks have been selected to mirror both the heritage of the sink and ourselves. The Classic Collection sink names describe the sink style; such as Belfast Sink or Butler Sink, whereas the Original Collection’s names are carefully selected in tribute to the local communities and villages which make up our region and provide homes for our staff and their families.

Despite their differences, our two Kitchen Sink Collections still share the same traditional craftsmanship skills, which are combined to create a truly timeless collection of lasting quality for today’s modern living. As practical now as a century ago, a Shaws kitchen sink is a sink of substance, which will add warmth and personality to any kitchen.
